Hey guys! So a few weeks ago, I was given the opportunity to attend the launch of the number 1 face care brand in the UK– Simple Skin Care. Simple Skin Care promises kindness, gentleness and simplicity, and it’s finally here in the Philippines!
“Simple champions the belief that face care is not just about how skin looks from the outside. Rather, it is about how it feels—because it is always about how women feel about their own skin that truly matters. With that, the brand offers a range of products that gently hydrates while providing superior makeup removal and skin cleansing, specifically made for women with sensitive skin.
Kind To Skin, Kind To Body, and Kind To Others
To deliver the best results, Simple only uses skin-loving ingredients that are kind to the skin and to the planet. Sourced sustainably, it is free from color, fragrance, and other harsh ingredients that can upset the skin. Still, it delivers its promise of leaving skin thoroughly-cleansed without that tight or dry feeling. Each product works in harmony with the skin for a calming and hydrating effect. At the end of the day, face care should always be as fuss-free, gentle, and as effective as that.
After all, #KindnessIsSimple”
The program included a talk about the ingredients of the product line, and Micellar water is the key ingredient. For the past year, the use of Micellar water in makeup removers has been hailed as the new thing in makeup removers because of how gentle and kind it is to the skin. Plus, it is water. So there’s really no harm in trying. Bioderma, L’oreal and Garnier are some of the brands that have their own micellar water skin care line. After the talk, they also showed a demo wherein they removed a volunteer’s makeup on stage so easily, and this really caught my attention.
For the longest time, I have struggled with makeup removers. Because I always have to film and attend events, I need to wear makeup often. It’s fun and all, but the hard part is removing all of the layers. I have tried a lot of makeup removers. I have tried the blue Neutrogena makeup remover wipes, and using that alone dried my skin so much, I would get rashes and breakouts each time. So I figured, why not add a makeup removing oil? Maybe that would fix the “dryness” caused by the makeup remover wipes. I started using the Etude makeup removing oil for sensitive skin. For a while, it was working a lot better, but the rashes would still come back. So then I tried the Bioderma Micellar water makeup remover, and that dried my skin WAY more than the Neutrogena wipes. So I kind of got scared of Micellar water that I stayed away from it from a while. I went to Sydney and found a more calming version of the blue Neutrogena makeup remover wipes. I bought the purple one simply because Kim Kardashian was using it all the time in her makeup videos. So I thought, why not? She doesn’t seem to be struggling with rashes. But even that did not work for me. I would still get rashes, but not as bad as the others, so I was actually willing to settle for that for the time being. It didn’t last long though because after the Simple Skin Care event, I made sure to try their makeup removing products, hoping to find “The One”, and I am so happy I did. Because, I finally found it. I finally found the skin care line that will remove my makeup without hurting my skin.
I use the the following:
Simple Dual Effect Eye Makeup Remover
I put this on a cotton pad, and massage it over my eye VERY gently for a minute, and this wipes my eye makeup off right away. No rubbing needed. It even removes my waterproof mascara. So incredible!
For makeup lovers, there is the Simple Dual-Effect Eye Makeup Remover (P499/125mL). It effectively dissolves even the toughest eye makeup without irritating the eyes. The two-part formula consists of oil and purified water for maximum effect—no eye-rubbing required. This means that even women who wear contact lenses can use it without having to worry about their eyes turning red. The best part? It also cares for the eyelashes, as it leaves your fringes hydrated and nourished.
Simple Micellar Cleansing Facial Wipes
I use this to remove the rest of my makeup together with the Simple Micellar Cleansing Water. And honestly, this combination has not given me a single rash or breakout, and I am astounded. I am very impressed that it did not even dry my skin.
For those who still prefer facial wipes, the Simple Micellar Cleansing Facial Wipes (P299) is perfect to refresh and nourish your skin, remove tough make-up and is soft enough for use on delicate or sensitive skin. It contains a perfect blend of the purest possible skin-loving ingredients and added vitamins. They’re also convenient, quick-to-use and a fantastic addition to any makeup bag, perfect for when women on the go.
Simple Micellar Cleansing Water
I use this when I have more time instead of the cleansing facial wipes. It does the same job though. It is very kind to my skin as well.
The Simple Micellar Cleansing Water (P499/200mL, P799/400mL) is the most advanced facial cleanser to date, yet is gentle enough even for the most sensitive skin. It contains micelles, which are clever cleansing bubbles that work to lift away makeup and impurities, unclogging pores while instantly boosting skin hydration by 90%. It’s non-comedogenic, hypoallergenic, and dermatologically tested and approved. This product is a cult-favorite in the beauty industry—aside from having a strong following, it was also part of Glamour UK’s Top 15 cleansers and Allure’s Best of Beauty 2015.
Here are the rest of the products:
Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash
For a deep and thorough cleanse, there is the Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash (P299/150mL). Unlike other harsh cleansers in the market, it can get rid of oil, dirt, and impurities without stripping the skin of its natural moisture. It’s made of only the purest ingredients and skin-loving multi-vitamins to keep sensitive skin clean and hydrated. It’s also 100% soap-free, so even those with the most sensitive skin can benefit from it.
Another thing I love about this product line us the price. I love how affordable they are. I really am so happy that I finally found a new staple in my skin care routine. #KindnessIsSimple
